Scam Emails Targeting Businesses With Malware
Scam emails target businesses with Malware
So you’ve heard of them before and you no doubt have come across some yourself.
However one landed in my inbox today…
Now, apart from the fact it’s very suspect. Here’s a quick rundown as to how you can instantly recognise it as a spam
Firstly, the names don’t match. This is a pretty strong give away.
Secondly, no one would zip a resume, especially considering it’s 2kb in size
Thirdly, it isn’t addressed to anyone. “How do you do?” – Is quite possibly the worst opening line for someone submitting a CV I’ve ever seen.
Finally, it’s unbelievably vague. With no real information on what said person is interested in or which “field”. Simply because it’s sent out to multiple businesses.
To a lot of people, this is common sense, however people have and will continue to get stung. The sad thing is, within that zip file is no doubt an exe file which release Malware all over your computer, obtaining all your information and causing a lot of destructive harm to your computer. Of course, in the Photography industry, that could potentially cause a lot of heart ache.
