The End of 2016

The end of the year is always an interesting time. A time to reflect a time to set goals, make plans and swear the next will be greater.

It's a time to say "screw you 2016". "You've taken many people's lives". "You've made many people ill", "you've been painstakingly rubbish".

But I'm seeing more positive energy. Lots of positive words and posts on social media. People making targets, some even as simple as "2017 is going to be a better year".

52 weeks, 365 days, 8760 hours, 525,600 minutes. This is how we are measuring things. But for all that went wrong, for all the bad that happened. What about the good times? 525,600 minutes... were they all really that bad?

A year is a great time to measure, you can achieve so much but yet it can feel like it's over in an instant.

So much "throwing out the trash" and "getting rid of people who I don't want to be a part of my 2017". But what about the 24 hour measurements? Why wait for a new year? Everyday feel blessed to wake up and empty your trash there and then. Keep yourself positive and count yourself lucky you get to wake up and try it all again.

When it comes to 2017, for me, I want to see more failure, more rejection, why? Because it meant I tried and at the end of the day I'll go to sleep wake up and try again. I'm guilty myself, but I see so much procrastination. Lots of people walking through life as if it's just "meant to be". Afraid to take hold of their dreams, their lives.

I saw something great today and it went like this...

"A dream written down with a date becomes a goal. A goal broken down into steps becomes a plan. A plan backed by action makes your dreams come true.”

People have so much fire on New Year's Eve that they forget to fuel, something goes wrong and the bubble is burst.

Really want to change your 2017? Write down your dream, your goal, build a plan and no matter how small your steps are, no matter how long it takes. Embrace the fact that at the end of 2017... you'll be a hell of a lot closer than you are now!

2016 was awesome. I met some superb people (far too many to mention) I became part of people's lives and I am eternally Thankful for.

I've also had the privilege of watching many talented people grow. There's something warming about watching people living out their dreams. Watching them pursue their goals. The Photography Industry continues to grow and grow. New equipment, faster, better, new concepts and ideas being generated and shared by the day. The creativity is immense and we live in a digital age where it's easier to follow. To discover, to inspire and be inspired.

2017 can only get better!

Roll on 2017!!
