What’s on this Weekend?

Whether you want to attend an organised event, host a party in your backgarden, enjoy a quick sparkler in the cold breeze or avoid them completely, when it comes to fireworks, they can be a bit like Marmite.

I’m not going to preach, or become a health and safety advert but please, safety does come first so whichever option you opt for, be safe. If it’s an organised event then the barriers are there for a reason. If you’re hosting your own party then please put a responsible adult in place in control of the fireworks and if you’re having a sparkler with the kids, do make sure they wear gloves, hat and a coat and that the sparkler is out at arms length at all times.

Remember to respect others. Not everyone enjoys fireworks as much as you might. Be mindful of those with small children and animals. Pop round to their houses before you start and give them a heads up. Believe it or not, people are reasonable, if you allow them time to sort out their pets, or prep their children for the BANGS they will be far more thankful for it. Pets can react to fireworks in many ways and if you provide the owner with as much notice as possible, they can prepare themselves appropriately. Let them know your plans, how long you intend to go on for, whether or not you predict them to be loud and in short bursts or if they are more of a continuous burst.

I’m not attempting to be a kill joy, I enjoy a good firework display but I’m mindful that not everyone feels the same way.

Now that’s out the way, you (and everyone around you) are set to enjoy the night ahead.

hough if you do decide to attend an event, here's what's on...
