Shropshire Wedding - The Mill Barns Alveley - Lucy and Edd

The Wedding of Lucy and Edd at the Mill Barns Alveley, in Bridgnorth, Shropshire was full of fun, laughter, emotion and family.

But before we begin the story, the wedding of Lucy and Edd almost never took place. Let’s begin with a little lesson…

Typically grooms are given one or two tasks for the day. The suits and in Ed’s case arranging the registrar. It is the latter, where this story begins. When you book your registrar, typically this is done 12 months plus in advance. You secure your date, you pay a deposit and then you relax. That is of course until the remaining balance is due.

This is where it all when a little pear-shaped. Back in November 2018, Edd received an email advising that the remaining balance was due. Unfortunately, Edd isn’t one to regularly check his emails. December 2018 comes around and another email has been sent. Needless to say, Edd still hasn’t checked his emails.

It’s the start of 2019, time for New Year’s resolutions. Although yes you’ve guessed it one of those wasn’t for Edd to check his emails. It wasn’t until towards the end of January that Lucy decided she was going to read through Edd’s countless amount of unread emails.

No doubt you’ve guessed it by now, Lucy discovered the emails sent from the registrar. Imagine her horror when she notes the last email demanding the final payment or the date will be cancelled.

I’m going to leave this open to your imagination as to what happened next.

Needless to say, Edd can be described as one of these people who come up smelling of roses from these situations. He phoned the registrar, apologised and made the final payment.

This was almost a wedding that was not going to be. Ladies and gentlemen, let this be a lesson.

It’s no doubt safe to say, Edd will have to live with this for the rest of his life.

But then maybe it was fate, Lucy and Edd were obviously meant to be. The perks of Wedding Photography is that I am fortunate to meet all different types of personality and with Lucy and Edd they were the perfect match for each other.

When I sat down with Lucy and Edd to talk about their day, it was clear to see they were looking to capture the day in a natural, relaxed and fun way. In particular, Lucy wanted to look back on their day and see the things she might not have been able to see at the time.

It was plain to see that family, friends and their children were their worlds.

To top it all off, Lucy and Edd opted for a superhero theme for the table names. We had Wolverine, Thor, Capt America, Superman, Wonder Woman, Hawkeye, Iron man, the Incredible Hulk and Deadpool.

As you can imagine, most females wanted to sit on Thor. I’ll just leave it at that…
